About us
My name is Patrick Begin. I’ve been wrestling and grappling since 1998, and I founded In The Fight Grappling in Woodinville to be more than just a gym. We are a grappling-based leadership academy dedicated to developing both physical and mental fortitude.
I love coaching kids and young adults in the Woodinville community, using the mats as a classroom to teach resilience, leadership, humility, and teamwork. I can’t think of a better physical activity to help young people build confidence, discipline, and character.
Under the guidance of head coach Patrick Begin, a black belt directly under the renowned Neil Melanson, our students benefit from an exceptional grappling lineage. Neil trained under the legendary Gene LeBell, who famously coached Ronda Rousey and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, providing a deep foundation in combat sports.
Further enriching our instruction, Patrick has trained alongside world-class fighters such as Randy Couture, Frank Trigg, Vitor Belfort, and Bryan Danielson, bringing real-world experience and elite-level knowledge to our mats. Through the art of grappling, we empower individuals to develop discipline, resilience, and leadership skills that extend far beyond the gym.
